NSGA announces A change in  registration dates for CHAMPIONSHIPS

Registration dates for 2012 Nova Scotia Golf Championships have changed. Formerly, the first working day in April was the date that online registrations opened for all tournaments. The NSGA made the decision to bring online registration dates closer to the first day of the tournament so that players would have more time to make accurate decisions as to their playability. This change will also enable our staff to monitor registrations more accurately.

“Over the past few years we have been experiencing an extraordinary amount of late withdrawals and one of the contributing factors is the time period between the opening of registration and the actual start date of our Championships. Traditionally all registrations for competitions opened on the first business day of April. With some of our championships there has been a 4 to 5 month period from the date of registration to the actual start date of the championship. This new system will tighten up timelines and allow our competitors time to decide whether they can participate in our Championships,” said David Campbell, NSGA Executive Director.

The NSGA exemption process based on previous year’s results will remain the same for all of our Championships. Exemption registration will open on March 1 and end on March 28, 2012.
