The 2011 NSGA Junior Development Team
Executive Summary:
The Nova Scotia Golf Association (NSGA) is pleased to announce the 2011 Team Nova Scotia High Performance Development Program. This program aims to provide Nova Scotia junior golfers with training and coaching programs that align with the National standards, including the athlete development principles contained in the RCGA Long Term Player Development Guide (LTPD). The goal of Team Nova Scotia is to ensure that there is a coordinated and consistent approach towards training and developing our junior golfers. We will make certain that junior golfers from Nova Scotia understand and have access to a process that will maximize their success at the Provincial, National and International levels. This program is designed to help educate both the parents and the athletes on the appropriate training development and improved athlete performance.
The 2011 Team Nova Scotia Junior Development Program will be a comprehensive training program that will include input from CPGA Professionals and Sport Science Specialists. The athletes will take part in golf training camps that will include such programs as video swing analysis and short game testing.
Team Selection Criteria:
Candidates for the 2011 Team Nova Scotia Junior Development Program will be selected on an annual basis according to the following criteria.
- The Nova Scotia Junior Player of the Year standing from the previous year.

Results based on the previous year’s NSGA Junior Provincial Championship.

Consideration will also be given for:

any results from any RCGA National Championship.

outstanding sportsmanship.

any team member from the previous year’s Junior Development Team.

any results from any RCGA National Championship.
Selection of the team will be completed no later than April 1st of the corresponding year.
The NSGA Junior Development Committee will make the final selection for each team annually. All selections are final.
